The Vine Care is seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSW) to join our growing community support team in in Hamilton.
We are particularly looking for PSWs who have a strong understanding of Caribbean, Jamaican, and Filipino cultures to provide culturally responsive care for clients in the community.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Deliver client focused care within the full scope of practice of a PSW.
- Provide personal care in accordance with individual needs.
- Assist with meals, feeding, providing nourishment supplements as needed.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the service plan by observing, communicating and recording appropriately.
- Ensure on an ongoing basis that the emotional comfort, physical comfort, and safety of clients are met to the greatest possible extent.
- Perform light house keeping and other duties within scope of practice as needed.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional documentation of care provided and client observations.
Requirements:
- Resume
- Current First Aid / CPR
- 2-Step TB Skin test or Chest X-ray within 1 year
- Immunization record
- Current vulnerable sector check screening (no more than six months old) is required upon hire
- Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA)
- PSW Certificate
- Canadian Government-issued ID
- Proof of Covid Vaccination (At least 2 doses)
- Two professional references
- Ability to commute easily within the community and provide cluster support
- Availability to workweekdays and at least two weekends in a month with flexibility for days, evenings, and overnight shifts.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team, with excellent organizational skills to manage your schedule
- Well-developed interpersonal and customer service skills, to effectively communicate with clients and team members
- Effective problem-solving and conflict management skills
- Basic computer/smartphone skills would be an asset
- Ability to perform suppository insertion, training and experience in medication administration and Catheter care will be added advantage.
- This is a physically demanding position and requires hand, arm and shoulder dexterity, sensory ability, lifting to a maximum of approximately fifty-five (55) pounds, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement

Licence/Certification:
- Vulnerale Sector Check report - within 6 months (required)
- Clear TB Test Result - Within a year (required)
