Job Title: Manager, Foundations & Excavations
Location: Calgary, AB
Salary: $125K - $140K
As a key member of our client’s leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the Foundation Excavation division. This division provides excavation services to homebuilders in and around the Calgary area and has evolved into the industry leader for the excavation of both single and multi-family foundations. The Manager’s primary objective will be to ensure the efficient operation of the division and that client expectations are exceeded.
Responsibilities:
- Providing overall leadership and direction to the Foundation Excavation division while implementing plans to achieve overall corporate results.
- Continuously promote a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with the safety department to develop targets and objectives to improve safety performance.
- Contributing to setting long range goals and strategic plans, considering market conditions and trends, the competitive environment and available resources
- Oversees the execution of business and financial plans.
- Responsible for the consistent review of departmental and project performance based on the annual budget.
- Manage existing client relationship to ensure service levels are met and build new customer relationships to grow business
- Manage subcontractor relationships to ensure competitive pricing and on-time delivery
- Responsible for the allocation of labour and equipment resources to ensure that overall schedule and budget requirements are met
- Review tenders and preparing pricing estimates
- Troubleshoot and resolve any project issues that may arise.
- Responsible for the development and training of staff and ensuring that all policies and procedures are adhered to

- Someone coming from a home builder or developer background with excellent understanding charge back processes as it pertains to developers would be a significant advantage.
