Reporting to the Associate Manager of Styling, the Still Life Stylist is responsible for the off-figure styling of SSENSE e-commerce photoshoots. As part of our best-in-class Studio visual production team, he/she will ensure that all styling is consistent with the SSENSE style guide and production and productivity targets are met. The ideal candidate has the ability to understand a brand identity and art direction to fuse with their own fashion point of view and is able to manage complex styling. This role works closely with Art Direction, Producers, the Studio Merchandise team, Photographers, Set Coordinators and the Studio merchandise team, requiring a highly collaborative style and the ability to influence and motivate to drive performance results.
Styling - 90%
Prepare and style merchandise, interpreting brands editorially and commercially, while respecting SSENSE identity and style guides
Research designers, brands, collections, and products in preparation for each photoshoot
Manage time appropriately and collaborate with on-set production team (Photographer, Set Coordinator), Associate Producer/Producer, Studio Merchandise team, and Art Direction team to achieve daily production targets
Execute styling for all brands (simple to high complexity) and art direction briefs for special projects to SSENSE quality and productivity standards
Maintain strict standards of quality control and stay up-to-date with SSENSE art direction
Handle all merchandise with care to minimize damages
Assist the Associate Manager of Styling on ad hoc projects, as required
Continuous Improvement - 10%
Proactively propose, plan, and execute improvements to workflow and processes, jointly with the Associate Manager of Styling
Develop styling technique and capability by internalizing feedback from Associate Manager of Styling and by participating in art direction workshops and ad hoc projects
Stay up-to-date on industry tools, techniques, and best practices in styling
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Retail Management or a related field
A minimum of 1 years experience in visual merchandising or fashion styling, preferably in a luxury or e-commerce environment
Strong grasp of garment construction, fabrics, colours and matching
Exceptional fashion and styling sense with a proven ability to stay ahead of trends
Strong research skills
Excellent ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
Detail oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
Team player with solid interpersonal skills
