Terra Mia Pasta Classes & Experiences is a hands-on Italian cooking studio in Niagara Falls. We host pasta classes, private events, corporate experiences, and specialty culinary events. We are a small but busy team, and we take pride in creating organized, welcoming, and high-quality food experiences for our guests.
Position Overview
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Prep Cook / Dishwasher to support our kitchen and studio operations.
This is a hands-on support role that includes both prep work and dishwashing/cleaning duties. The ideal candidate has previous kitchen experience, can follow prep lists independently, and is comfortable working both alone and as part of a team.
You must be organized, punctual, hardworking, and able to complete assigned tasks efficiently without constant supervision.
There is potential for additional hours if things go well and as business needs continue to grow.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Completing prep tasks from daily prep lists
- Preparing necessary food items for classes, events, and service
- Following recipes, instructions, and kitchen systems
- Washing, drying, and putting away dishes, plates, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Keeping fridges and freezers clean, organized, and properly stocked
- Stocking ingredients, supplies, service items, and paper goods as needed
- Keeping the studio, kitchen, storage areas, and dish area clean and organized
- Assisting with setup and cleanup for classes and private events
- Putting away deliveries and organizing inventory
- Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards
- Completing repetitive prep, cleaning, and dishwashing tasks with care
- Working independently to complete assigned tasks on time
- Supporting the team during busy class and event times
Requirements
- Previous kitchen experience is required
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Must have your own transportation
- Must be able to work independently and complete prep lists solo
- Must be able to follow directions, systems, and kitchen standards
- Must work well with a team in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with dishwashing and general cleaning duties
- Strong sense of cleanliness, organization, and urgency
- Able to stand, bend, lift, carry, and move around for extended periods
- Daytime, evening, and weekend availability is an asset
- Food Handler Certificate is an asset
Schedule
This is a part-time position for up to 15 hours per week. Shifts may vary depending on classes, private events, prep needs, and business volume.
Additional hours may become available for the right candidate.
