Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Personal Support Worker (PSW) for private assignments to provide exceptional care to clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care settings, with a strong focus on senior care and individuals with disabilities. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Reminders to take medications accurately following prescribed instructions and safety protocols
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, promoting their well-being and independence
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and assist with feeding if necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Support clients with mobility and transfers using proper techniques to ensure safety
- Monitor clients’ health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Follow care plans meticulously while adapting to individual preferences and needs
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments
- Strong understanding of senior care, dementia care, and working with individuals with disabilities
- Competence in medication administration and adherence to safety protocols
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and compassion
- Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation efficiently
- Good communication skills for interacting effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities in a private setting
- Valid PSW certification or equivalent credentials required; prior experience in home care is preferred
