Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and other machinery to support various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, mechanical knowledge, and safety protocols to ensure efficient and safe project completion. Candidates with experience in horizontal drilling, paving, and commercial driving are highly preferred. The Excavator Operator will play a vital role in executing excavation tasks accurately while adhering to project specifications and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and caterpillar machinery to perform excavation, grading, paving, and site preparation tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Assist with horizontal drilling and other specialized construction activities as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to interpret plans and execute tasks efficiently.
- Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols and proper equipment handling procedures.
- Support additional construction activities including paving, grading, and site leveling as required.
- Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating excavators and heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and caterpillar machinery.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience with horizontal drilling, paving, or construction site preparation is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and protocols.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Prior experience with heavy equipment operation in commercial or industrial settings is highly desirable.
