As a valued member of the Finance team, the Senior Analyst – Decision Support demonstrates a commitment to the quality of resident care by providing services in accordance with the organization’s vision, mission and values.
Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Analyst will be a key resource to senior management in further improving business analysis by leveraging their strong analytical skillset, and understanding of data to support management in evidence based decision making, performance monitoring and improvement.
The Senior Analyst - Decision Support will support the design and formulation of the Decision Support reporting roadmap, and implement a comprehensive compliance reporting solution for the Long-term Care (LTC) segment.
Support senior management in a variety of analytical needs including: the development of analytical plans, statistical analysis, key performance indicators (“KPI”), benchmarking, data visualizations, and routine and ad hoc reporting
Evaluate the key performance metrics for the company, and identify new and insightful KPI’s to be measured
Assess the design of the Decision Support reporting and propose improvements to the process and reporting
Extract, transform and analyze complex information from a variety of database servers and clinical systems
Support the development of the data architecture for Decision Support and LTC compliance reporting
Design the LTC compliance reporting, with data from multiple internal and external sources, including reviewing and developing an efficient process for LTC compliance reporting
Liaise with individuals at all levels of the organization on projects, reports and other ad-hoc requests
Collaborate with key partners (People, Procurement, Finance, Payroll, Operations, Information Technology) and peers to identify new data sources to incorporate into various analysis, as well as innovative analytical/statistical techniques (predictive, simulation, optimization models) that will generate new insights
Identify areas of opportunity with respect to routine reporting to increase efficiency and reduce manual work
Evaluate the system requirements for both Decision Support and LTC compliance reporting
Partner with relevant functions to propose and implement a technology solution for LTC compliance reporting
Implement best practices in reporting to drive quality and efficiency
Minimum of three to five years of business performance measurement and analysis experience
Undergraduate Degree in applicable field required (Statistics, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Science, Health Information, Business, etc.)
Strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to be a strategic thinker as well as dive into details
Strong project management skills and advanced Excel skills
Experience using BI tools and ERP systems
Ability to analyze data and present complex information and recommendations in an easy to understand manner
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a complex, fast paced environment
Demonstrated attention to detail in day-to-day work with a focus on quality of work, accuracy and customer service.
Self-starter, ability to learn quickly, ability to adapt to change with a sense of urgency
Experience working with different levels of management and operations
