About the role
We’re looking for a senior architect who can sit down with a client’s leadership team, work out where their cloud platform actually needs to go, and then help build it. The work spans industries: resources, transportation, financial services, public sector, healthcare, SaaS. Some of it is migration and modernisation. A growing share of it is putting GenAI into production properly, rather than as a demo that never ships.
This is a hands-on role. We want someone who has followed their own designs through to systems that run.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing AWS target-state architectures and leading migration and modernisation roadmaps
- Building production GenAI solutions: RAG pipelines, knowledge bases, document intelligence, agentic workflows (Bedrock or equivalent)
- Architecting data platforms and event-driven or streaming pipelines at scale
- Standing up CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and observability so delivery stays repeatable
- Advising executives on cloud and AI strategy, governance, and cost
- Scoping solutions, estimating effort, and keeping delivery on track
- Mentoring engineers and lifting the technical standard across teams
What we’re after
- 10+ years in software or platform engineering, including 5+ in a cloud architecture or lead role
- Deep AWS experience. Strong Azure or GCP with demonstrated AWS capability also works
- Solid grounding in serverless, containers, IAM and security, and IaC
- Genuine production experience with AI or GenAI workloads, not just prototypes
- Data engineering fundamentals: pipelines, lakes and warehouses, streaming
- The ability to hold a credible conversation with both engineers and a C-suite
Nice to have
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Data Analytics, AI Practitioner, or similar)
- Consulting or professional services background
- Work in regulated or safety-critical environments
- IoT or high-volume telemetry platforms
- Technical writing, publications, speaking, or open source
- Experience using AI tooling inside the delivery lifecycle itself
- Multi-cloud or hybrid exposure
