McMaster’s Development team is an award-winning, internationally-recognized group with a collective will to achieve ambitious goals. Its key accountabilities are to strengthen McMaster's relationships, to secure new revenue and to develop a pipeline of funders and supporters for the University. This role will provide support to the Assistant Vice-President, Development and the Principal Giving team. A team of seven specialists, Principal Giving is responsible for stewarding relationships with McMaster’s long-time and most generous funders while identifying new funding partners with the ability to make supernova commitments to the University’s most ambitious initiatives. In addition, team members can be called upon to support their faculty colleagues, especially in the research and development of funding strategies that cross multiple faculties.
1. Provide support to the AVP, Development with fundraising activities including developing briefing packages and preparing written communications.
2. Support the preparation of meetings for the AVP, Development and team by; collecting and compiling background information, organizing meeting logistics, preparing or editing presentations and related materials and executing follow-up items.
3. Ensure an efficient flow of information and administrative support for the team.
4. Maintain a variety of records in donor database and update files and correspondence.
Education and Experience
University degree in a relevant field.
2 years of relevant experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Superior organization skills, with an ability to work independently and within a team
Self directed and motivated with ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment and ensure deliverables are met in a timely and professional manner
