As a Maintenance Engineer, you enable the bakeries to deliver on customer needs by ensuring bakery equipment operates at optimum effectiveness. You will build a foundations maintenance model for the future and help bakeries achieve maintenance success and increase reliability of equipment. In this role, you will establish and maintain best practices to enable future success for the bakeries.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Drive plant asset integrity, reliability & PM program, including proactive maintenance programs, such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), maintenance scheduling (CMMS) and root cause analysis (RCA).
Generate PMs: identification, documentation (visual and written), loading into CMMS and appropriate communication
Actively lead and participating in bakery audits: in-depth maintenance audits, wrench time studies, use of EAM software
Ensures adherence to quality, legislative and company standards including Health & safety programs, legislative requirements, CFIA, BRC, SQF, GMPs and HACCP requirements.
Work with Bakery Manager and Operations Team to report out on KPIs to monitor the success of the maintenance program, such as OEE, waste & downtime. Review and score the challenges around downtime to continuously eliminate reactionary maintenance.
Collaborate with vendors on new future technologies to enhance plant capabilities
Be an active advocate and promoter of a safe and healthy workplace for self and other employees including identification and investigations of hazards, incident or injuries working in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
ABOUT YOU:
New or recent grad with post-secondary university education in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (entry level/new grad)
Experience through internships/co-ops is an asset; food manufacturing environment beneficial but not required
Knowledge of regulatory codes (building, fire, electrical, TSSA, etc.) and core focus on safety and safe procedures
Proficient with standard office computer technology such as Microsoft Office (Word & Excel); knowledge of business systems such as SAP, ERP/EAM & CMMS system is an asset but not required
Excited to travel, work in different bakeries and meet new people (25-30% travel required)
Attentive to detail and interested in mechanics
Strong communications, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
Crave learning and looking to get involved and try your hand at new projects
Interested in working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities that constantly offer new growth and development
Bi-lingual with French is an asset but not required
