Successful candidates for front-line staff positions will be caring, energetic, resourceful and motivated people able to provide direct support to individuals living with disabilities.
2-year college diploma or university degree in the human services field
Prior employment or volunteer experience with people with disabilities
Effective in working collaboratively within a team and independently with minimal direction as circumstances dictate
Effective communication skills – verbal and written with all (service providers, family members, clients, colleagues, management etc.)
Ability to accept, and provide feedback to others
Proven experience in effective problem solving skills
Effective time management/prioritization/organization skills
Availability to work weekends, evenings and overnight shifts (some positions may require work on some stat holidays)
Functional competency with technology, computers, remote access software, productivity applications and mobile communications
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which may include personal care and client handling in some circumstances
Preferred experience will include:
Previous experience in rehabilitation; the delivery of personal care to persons with disabilities; with direct support in a community based setting; with direct support for people with ABI
Valid Class G Driver’s License with a clear driving record
Valid and current certification in First Aid and CPR
Valid and current Certification in Non-violent Crisis Intervention (CPI)
