Senior Safety and NSC Compliance Consultant
NSC Compliance. Field Safety. Peace River Region.
Lead our carriers through NSC compliance reviews and field safety programs. We handle the back office. You bring the expertise.
Location: Peace River, Alberta. Head office-based, with field work across the Peace Region.
Engagement: Contract safety and compliance leader. You bring your own registered business and work in line with the Strategic HSE standard.
Sixteen years. No advertising. Every client arrived by referral.
That track record was not built by report-writers. It was built by leaders who walk a site, find the gap before the regulator does, and stand beside the carrier when the audit, the claim, or the investigation lands.
Right now, our biggest need is NSC Compliance. Carriers are coming to us for New Carrier Compliance Reviews, facility audits, and driver qualification support faster than we can take them on. We need a consultant who can lead that work from day one
What We Do
Strategic HSE handles the parts of running a fleet that nobody puts on a brochure. Regulatory compliance. Safety performance. Claims defense. Audit prep. Captive insurance structures. Platform integration. The work is technical, the consequences are real, and the people across the table make the decisions.
We are Canada’s exclusive managed services partner for Fleetworthy’s CPSuite platform. We do not sell software. We are the link between the carrier and the data the platform produces, and we advocate for the carrier through every investigation, audit, regulatory issue, and insurance renewal.
Clients do not get a checklist and a handshake. They get a team that stays beside them until the file is closed and the operation is audit-ready.
We Win Together. All In, Always. | Audit Ready. Every Day.
The Opportunity
This role is centred on NSC compliance work. It is our highest-volume need right now and the area where we are actively bringing on carriers. Field safety work is part of the role, but NSC compliance is where most of your time will go.
You step into a client base that already trusts us, onto a platform that already works, and onto a team that holds one standard. You spend your time on the compliance and safety work you are great at, with the resources to grow your book and your craft.
We are not looking for someone to reinvent how we operate. We are looking for a leader who brings industry-relevant experience into our framework and guides real, results-focused programs for the clients who count on us.
This is not a training position. You lead a client engagement from day one, fluent in NSC compliance and field safety management, and you know where the two split and why that line matters.
Who thrives here
- Consultants who know NSC compliance inside and out and want to put that expertise to work daily.
- Contract leaders who want to do the work, not run an office.
- People who listen first, speak plainly, and finish what they start.
- Humble, hungry, people-smart. No ego at the client site.

- Facilitate safety training, onboarding, toolbox talks, and leadership workshops.
- Develop safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices aligned with regulations and field reality.
- Drive COR and SECOR audit prep, run internal audits, and carry clients through certification and maintenance cycles.
Client Engagement and Business Development
- Build and hold trust-based relationships with owners, general managers, safety leads, and frontline supervisors.
- Stand in as the carrier’s advocate during audits, investigations, WCB claims, and insurance renewals.
- Give practical advice, not generic checklists. Be the trusted advisor, not the report-writer.
- Spot new business and grow the client base through our Strategic Referrals and Incentive Program.
- Work with the Director of Operations and Field Safety Manager on client strategy, delivery, and quality.

How the Engagement Works
This is a consulting contractor role within Strategic HSE. You are not an employee, but you are not a freelancer either. You operate under the Strategic HSE brand, uphold our standards, and represent our firm to every client you serve.
You manage your own schedule, your own travel, and your day-to-day client file work. The Director of Operations and Field Safety Manager are your operational partners. When an audit lands or a claim gets complicated, you are not standing there alone.
From there, you are part of the Strategic HSE team. One standard. One brand. The same clients and the same platform we put our name behind. You own your book of work. The standard you work to is ours, and it does not change from one operator to the next. That consistency is what clients pay for, and it protects every name attached to the work, including yours.
What you gain is freedom from the back-office grind. The standard stays consistent because that consistency is the product.
You work from our Peace River head office and in the field across the Peace Region.
Why Strategic HSE
No back-office grind: We carry billing, scheduling support, and the business side. You spend your time on the work that needs you.
Clients who trust us: Step into a client base built over sixteen years of referrals. They already expect results. You deliver them.
One team, one standard: You are a contract leader, not a lone operator. You work alongside people who hold the same bar.
Room to grow: Grow your book and your craft with the firm behind you. Our Strategic Referrals and Incentive Program rewards what you bring in.
Your domain, your strength: Focus on what you are great at. We built the firm so you do not have to be great at everything.
A note on applications
We read every application. Few get a reply.
This is built for people who have already done the work. If you are early in your career and need someone to show you how to run a program or carry a carrier through a compliance review, this is not the fit yet.
If you have led safety and compliance for years, and you are tired of carrying the back office to do work you could do in your sleep, we should talk. We follow up with candidates whose experience fits the seat.
