Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, Manager, Talent Development and Learning serves as a strategic advisor to drive the growth and development of our workforce through comprehensive learning and development initiatives. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing programs that enhance the skills, knowledge, and leadership capabilities of our employees across the organization, ensuring alignment with current and future business objectives.
What you will be responsible for:
Talent Development Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive talent development strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives, including the development of “UG University”.
- Identify and assess the training and development needs of the organization through job analysis, career paths, and consultation with managers.
- Oversee the build-out and management of the Learning Management System (LMS) NorthPass (Gainsight) to support all learning initiatives, blending online and in-person facilitated courses.
- Design and execute strategies and processes to ensure effective delivery and implementation of services, initiatives, and programs to support talent development and readiness and succession planning.
- Implement programs that enhance employee engagement and retention by providing opportunities for continuous learning and career advancement.
Organizational Development
- Develop and implement practices, systems, and techniques to affect organizational change with the goal to enhance and improve UG’s high performance culture.
Training and Development (Field Staff)
- Design and implement a comprehensive training and development program that supports field employees. This will include a combination of technical field training and management/supervisor essentials skills to ensure all employees are equipped with the skills necessary for their roles.
- Develop and execute career pathing initiatives for field employees, providing clear progression opportunities and a training path to achieve developmental goals.
- Lead the UHS team, including instructors, to develop and deliver high-impact learning programs that align with the organization's goals.
Leadership Development
- Designing and implementing learning pathways and innovative programs that support the embedment of future-focused skills across the talent lifecycle, aligning with organizational goals and supporting talent growth.
- Develop and manage career pathing initiatives to help employees understand and navigate their career progression.
- Lead the succession planning process (9-Box) and partnering the the HR Business Partner team to identify and develop high-potential employees for key roles within the organization.
- Develop and manage a High Potential (HiPo) program aimed at identifying and nurturing top talent.
- Apply Korn Ferry Leadership Competencies (Card Sort) in crafting Individual Development Plans (IDPs) to foster continuous employee growth and apply to assess succession readiness.
Performance Management
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and management teams to integrate talent development with the performance management process.
- Provide guidance on setting performance goals, delivering feedback, and conducting performance appraisals that drive employee development.
Measurement & Reporting
- Establish metrics to assess the effectiveness of talent development programs and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including measuring applied learning and learning effectiveness.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on the impact of talent development initiatives on organizational performance;
- Lead special projects as assigned.

What we need from you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in talent development, learning and development, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing talent development strategies and programs.
- Strong knowledge of Learning Management Systems and e-learning platforms. Serious bonus points if you have worked with NorthPass.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with senior leadership.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

- Typical office atmosphere and environment.
- Typical office hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm or as determined based on the needs of the department and requirements for successful business operations.
