SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our firm in Invermere, BC. The position focusses on working with small to mid-size businesses from a variety of industries. In addition to standard accounting and tax services Ascend takes a personal advisory approach to helping clients achieve their goals.

Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Prepare/review assignments including review, compilation, corporate tax, personal tax, estate, and business planning, bookkeeping and other compliance, and accounting work
- Reviewing tax provisions for clients
- Interacting with clients and other team members
- Assisting Managers and team members in all aspects of tax initiatives
- Assisting in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies for various clients
- Keep up to date on the content and practical applications of tax, accounting, and assurance standards, and know how to access and research professional and technical material
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or currently working towards completion
- 3 to 5 years experience in public accounting
- Profile, Caseware/Caseview, Microsoft office
- Canadian tax knowledge – personal, corporate, and trust
- Knowledge and practical experience in Canadian GAAPs – ASPE and ASNFPO
- Ability to develop and improve with other staff

- Annual salary range: $70,000 to $81,000
