Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Family Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law, including divorce, spousal and child support, and custody and parenting applications. This role requires exceptional legal drafting skills, the ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of clients, and a commitment to providing compassionate support throughout the legal process.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce proceedings, child custody disputes.
- Negotiate settlements between parties to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and client needs.
- Draft and review legal documents such as petitions, motions, and settlement agreements with precision.
- Maintain clear communication with clients regarding case progress and legal options available.
- Prepare for court hearings by organizing evidence and developing case arguments.
- Stay updated on changes in family law legislation and relevant legal precedents.
Skills
- Proficient in using Lexis-Nexis for legal research and case management.
- Strong legal drafting abilities with attention to detail in all documentation.
- Excellent negotiation skills to advocate effectively for clients' interests.
- Ability to write clearly and persuasively for various legal documents and correspondence.
- Strong research skills to analyze complex legal issues and develop sound strategies.
