Warehouse Labourer (heavy) – Temporary to Permanent
About Our Client
Our client is known all around the world for the B2B warehousing solutions – this is a cold storage/production facility in Vancouver. They are looking for the best of the best! You will have opportunity to grown and learn with our client, if you are ready for it!
What You Will Be Doing, as a Warehouse Labourer:
· Ensuring sub-zero and standard cold-room temperatures remain precise across the facility to safeguard product integrity.
· Checking incoming goods for any temperature deviations or signs of spoilage.
· Building pallets and utilizing insulated containers and gel packs for delicate, perishables-bound shipments.
· Safely moving boxes, crates, and pallets of various weights using equipment such as pallet jacks.
· Loading and unloading transport trucks while rapidly transferring temperature-sensitive cargo to specialized cold rooms.
· Applying product-specific information like ingredients, barcodes, and date coding to packaging.
· Assembling promotional stands and retail displays for food products
· Other duties as assigned.
What You Should Have, as a Warehouse Labourer:
· Ability to work in a freezer/refrigerated environment - coolers with temperatures ranging from -2°C to +8°C.
· Must be able tor dress appropriately for the above temperatures
· Ability to lift 50lbs consistently, without a team effort – must be in great physical shape
· Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar warehouse environment
· CSA Safety shoes/boots
· High visibility safety vest
· Safety gloves
· Must be able and willing to provide government issued ID every day for your shift to be able to enter the facility
· Must be able to pass a criminal background check (be bonded)
· Preference to those that have worked in a similar facility prior - to ensure safety and accuracy
· Ability to communicate perfectly in English
· Ability to stand for the entire shift
In Return, You Will Receive:
· $19.00 per hour
· 4% vacation pay accrued and paid out when requested
· Access to a Vertical Representative Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm
The Shift You Will be Working is:
· We have multiple shifts available:
- Midnight to 9:00am (overnights)
- 6:00am to 3:00pm (morning)
- 12:00pm to 9:00pm (early afternoon/evening)
· Monday to Friday
· There is no guarantee you will get your preferred shift but we will do our best.
