About the Role
We're looking for a patient, energetic, and hands-on Woodworking Workshop Instructor to lead children's woodworking sessions. You'll guide children through fun, age-appropriate projects using child-safe tools and materials while ensuring every participant has a safe, engaging, and rewarding experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead woodworking workshops for children ages 4–10.
- Demonstrate safe and proper use of child-friendly woodworking tools.
- Prepare materials and set up workstations before each session.
- Supervise children throughout the workshop and provide individual guidance.
- Encourage creativity, teamwork, and independent thinking.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Clean and organize the workshop area after each class.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory of workshop supplies.
- Communicate with parents and answer questions about the program.
- Assist with special events, camps, birthday parties, and other Adventure Bay activities when needed.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- Interest or experience in woodworking, DIY projects, carpentry, crafts, or maker activities is an asset.
- Comfortable using basic hand tools and teaching children in a safe environment.
- Patient, enthusiastic, dependable, and positive.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs and remain active throughout the shift.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain one).
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
