About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to join our team for a new 254-unit purpose-built rental community currently under construction in Calgary.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Superintendent with a strong wood-frame construction and carpentry background who is comfortable overseeing day-to-day site operations and coordinating multiple trades through project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise daily construction activities on site
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers, and site personnel
- Ensure construction is completed according to plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards
- Monitor project progress and maintain the construction schedule
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify and resolve deficiencies
- Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with applicable building codes and safety requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, consultants, subcontractors, and ownership
- Review drawings and coordinate construction details with the project team
- Track materials, deliveries, manpower, and site activities
- Assist with project close-out, deficiencies, and turnover
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as a Site Superintendent on wood-frame residential or multi-family projects
- Strong carpentry/construction background with a practical understanding of wood-frame construction
- Experience with mid-rise multi-family or purpose-built rental construction is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, building practices, and site coordination
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple trades and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
- Previous experience taking a project through deficiencies and close-out is an asset
Position Details
- Location: Calgary
- Pay: starting from $40, DOE
- Start Date: October, 2026
