Job Description: School Principal
Organization: Saskatoon Misbah School (SMS)
Reports To: Board of Directors / Director of Operations
Status: Full-Time, Permanent
1. Role Summary
The Principal is the educational leader of Saskatoon Misbah School, responsible for the
management of the instructional program and the supervision of all staff and students.
Following a period of transition, the incoming Principal will be tasked with stabilizing the
school environment, ensuring all Ministry of Education standards are met, and fostering a
positive, Islamic learning atmosphere.
2. Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership & Curriculum
● Oversee the delivery of the Saskatchewan provincial curriculum, ensuring high
academic standards and integration of Islamic values.
● Supervise, evaluate, and mentor teaching staff to ensure professional growth and
high-quality instruction.
● Manage student assessment, reporting, and provincial testing requirements.
Regulatory Compliance & Ministry Liaison
● Act as the primary point of contact for Ministry of Education inspections and
educational audits.
● Ensure all teacher certifications (SPTRB) are current and that the school adheres to
the Registered Independent Schools Regulations. ● Maintain accurate student records and attendance data as required for provincial funding.
School Culture & Stability
● Implement clear student conduct policies and a robust anti-bullying framework.
● Work closely with the Board to restore trust within the parent community through
transparent communication.
Administration & Operations
● Collaborate with the Director of Operations on budget planning, resource allocation,
and facility safety.
● Lead staff meetings and professional development days.
● Manage the school’s daily schedule and extracurricular activity calendar.
● Identify and support emerging leaders within the school; provide mentorship,
coaching, and leadership development opportunities to build internal capacity and
ensure sustainable future school leadership.
● Collaborate with the Board and relevant stakeholders to provide input into the
planning, design, and establishment of future permanent school facilities; ensure that
learning environments meet safety, accessibility, and educational adequacy
standards consistent with provincial expectations.
● Support Board-approved committees in the review and continuous improvement of
the school syllabus and instructional programs; provide informed recommendations
to ensure alignment with provincial curriculum requirements, student achievement
goals, and Ministry of Education standards.
3. Required Qualifications
● Education: A Master of Education (M.Ed.) or a related leadership degree is highly
preferred.
● Certification: Must hold (or be eligible for) a Saskatchewan Professional ‘A’
Teaching Certificate.
● Experience: 5–10 years of classroom experience, with at least 3 years in a
leadership or administrative role (Principal or Vice-Principal).
● Skills: Strong conflict resolution skills, experience with unionized environments, and
proficiency in student information systems.
● Cultural Competency: Deep understanding of Islamic educational values and the
ability to lead within a diverse faith-based community.
Salary & Compensation
● Base Salary Range: $95,000 – $120,000 CAD (depending on experience and post graduate credentials).

● Contract Term: Initial 3-year term with an annual performance review by the Board.
Pay: $88,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
