Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will directly impact patient care and medication management. In this vital role, you will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional patient service. Must have a current criminal record check (within 12 months). This is an 18 month maternity leave contract position.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and ordering supplies as needed.
- Answering phones, responding to patient requests and directing calls to appropriate pharmacy team members..
- Support the pharmacy team with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing insurance claims.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and pharmacy policies through diligent record-keeping and procedural adherence.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and pharmacy team members to facilitate smooth medication delivery and patient support.
- Cleaning and maintenance of automated prescription filling robots (Automed and Scriptpro)
Experience
- Prior experience as a pharmacy assistant or pharmacy technician is required.
- Strong understanding of medication names and their indications is essential.
- Knowledge of Kroll (Telus Health) software is beneficial
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
Pay: $20.00-$27.50 per hour
