Responsibilities:
Security Patrol & Site Monitoring
- Conduct regular foot patrols of assigned properties to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, common areas, and restricted locations in accordance with site procedures.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, or safety concerns.
- Help prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and property damage through a visible security presence.
Emergency Response & Incident Management
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, medical incidents, and security concerns.
- Assess situations calmly and follow established emergency procedures.
- Provide First Aid, CPR, or AED assistance until emergency personnel arrive (where applicable).
- Coordinate with police, fire, EMS, and other emergency responders when required.
Reporting & Documentation
- Complete accurate daily activity logs, incident reports, and occurrence reports in a timely manner.
- Document observations, incidents, and actions taken using company reporting systems.
- Communicate important information to supervisors and incoming staff during shift handovers.
Customer Service & Professional Conduct
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional security presence.
- Enforce site policies and procedures with professionalism, tact, and respect.
- Use effective communication and conflict de-escalation techniques when interacting with the public.
- Build positive relationships with clients, tenants, visitors, and fellow team members.
Site Safety & Equipment Responsibility
- Maintain accountability for company-issued equipment, keys, radios, and access devices.
- Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, or damaged equipment promptly.
- Follow all company policies, site procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company with integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain before employment).
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer and smartphone skills for report writing and communication.
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (8–12-hour shifts).
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in security, customer service, retail, hospitality, or a similar customer-facing role is considered an asset.
- Experience with CCTV monitoring, access control systems, or incident reporting is an asset.
- Valid Ontario G Class Driver's Licence is an asset for positions requiring mobile patrol duties.
Physical & Working Conditions
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
- Ability to remain alert and focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Shifts may include days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.

- Respond professionally and promptly to incidents and emergencies.
- Produce clear, accurate, and timely reports.
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and excellent customer service.
