Join Our Coaching Team for the 2026–2027 Season
The Whistler Sea Wolves Swim Club (WSSWC) is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Casual Assistant Coaches to join our coaching team for the 2026–2027 season. This flexible, casual position is ideal for current or former competitive swimmers, university students, aspiring coaches, or anyone who enjoys working with children and youth in a positive sport environment. Hours vary based on program schedules, competitions, and coach availability.
Working under the direction of the Head Coach, Casual Assistant Coaches support the delivery of quality swim practices while helping create a fun, safe, and encouraging environment for athletes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with swim practices for pre-competitive and competitive groups.
- Support athletes in developing swimming skills, confidence, and sportsmanship.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe training environment.
- Assist the Head Coach and coaching team during practices and swim meets as assigned.
- Build positive relationships with athletes, families, and fellow coaches.
- Follow all Swim BC, Swim Canada, and Safe Sport policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Have a passion for swimming and working with children and youth.
- Are dependable, enthusiastic, and eager to learn.
- Communicate well and work effectively as part of a team.
- Have competitive swimming experience (preferred but not required).
- Have coaching experience (an asset, but not required).
- Hold NCCP Swimming certification and Safe Sport training, or are willing to obtain the required certifications with club support.
- Safe Sport training completed (or willingness to complete before employment).
- In good standing with Swim BC and Swim Canada requirements.
