Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations in a dynamic food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation and safety standards, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, managing restaurant or hospitality operations, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Previous experience in restaurant management, hospitality, or the food industry is highly valued, along with proficiency in POS systems such as Micros POS. The Food Service Supervisor will play a key role in maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Establish methods to meet work schedules
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
- Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
- Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation
- Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
- Address customers' complaints or concerns
- Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
- Prepare food order summaries for chef
- Supervise and check assembly of trays
- Supervise and check delivery of food trolleys
- Establish work schedules
Skills
- Proven experience in food service supervision or restaurant management
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety regulations
- Proficiency with POS systems
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and sanitation standards within the food industry
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively
