Part-Time Bilingual (French/English) Early Years Teacher

Ashwood Glen School is seeking a passionate, energetic, and caring Part-Time Bilingual (French/English) Early Years Teacher to join our vibrant learning community. This role is ideal for an educator who is committed to inspiring a love of the French language while nurturing the curiosity, confidence, and development of young learners.
Working with children in our Early Years program, you will create a warm, engaging, and language-rich environment where French is introduced through meaningful, play-based experiences. You will collaborate closely with our teaching team to deliver high-quality programming that supports children's academic, social, emotional, and physical development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate French lessons and activities that encourage language acquisition through play, songs, storytelling, movement, games, and hands-on learning.
- Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to participate.
- Foster children's confidence in speaking and understanding French through daily routines and immersive experiences.
- Observe, assess, and document children's learning and development, providing feedback and recommendations as appropriate.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to integrate French learning into the broader educational experience.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating learning environment that promotes curiosity and independence.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as required.
Qualifications
- Fluency in both French and English (spoken and written) is required.
- Experience working with young children in an early learning or educational setting.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Diploma, Ontario College of Teachers certification, or equivalent educational background is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of child development and early years learning principles.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- A collaborative, positive, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
- Passion for fostering bilingualism and creating meaningful learning experiences for young children.

Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
