Temporary position only, from October 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027 for up to 35 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm. Uno Langmann Limited Fine Art is an internationally recognized gallery and is Canada’s foremost specialist in the finest quality European and North American paintings from the 18th, 19th, and early 20th century. The gallery also showcases a careful selection of antiques. Both museums and private collectors have come to rely on the gallery for a full range of services relating to acquisitions, consignment, sales, appraisals, conservation, and framing.
We are seeking a highly motivated, organized and creative individual to fill the temporary position of Temporary Gallery Administrative Assistant in our gallery located in Vancouver, British Columbia (this position is a work integrated learning program). This is an excellent opportunity for learning all aspects of gallery life being integrated into a gallery setting.
This position will work to facilitate the day-to-day administrative, retail, customer service, logistics and research needs of the gallery. The candidate must be skilled in time management and setting priorities in a busy workplace and delivering support to other gallery staff. The applicant will be required to research, catalogue, handle artwork, assist with antique restoration, assist with reframing, packing and shipping of fine art and antiques and to help with photography, logistics, web management and social media.
Hours are Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm, lunch to be paid as taken at desk. Position hours can be adjusted to accommodate classes but applicant must be available to work 10am to 5pm on Saturdays.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-University or post-secondary student register in a recognised Canadian Post Secondary Education Institute with an interest in 17th, 18th, 19th century fine art. Or family history or interest in fine art and antiques.
- Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, S.C. 2001, c. 27 (International students are NOT eligible)
-Must be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
- Fluent in English, both oral and written; some understanding of a second language an asset, but not a requirement.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, manual dexterity, decision making, critical thinking, and significant use of memory.
-Position requires a combination of sitting, standing or walking for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs safely.
-Excellent organisational skills.
-Self starter with the ability to take ownership of projects and see through completion.
-Must be bondable, and have basic security clearance

SALARY: 18.25$/hour
