The experienced bookkeeper will be responsible for the following:
Day to day processing of invoices, accounts payable entries, approved cheque requests from general and trust accounts, day to day input of client disbursements, regular communication with suppliers and firm personnel with respect to payments and invoices.
Manage payroll functions (T4s, deductions, remittances, ROE etc.)
Prepare payroll and month end/year end payroll remittances, WSIB, EHT .
Prepare quarterly HST remittances.
Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Process settlement cheques and final accounts according to the Law Society of Ontario
Qualifications:
Knowledge of bookkeeping principles related to issuance of cheques, recording of invoices and payments and understanding the distinction between the trust and general accounts.
Knowledge of Law Society regulations related to accounting.
Understanding client disbursements in the context of a professional service environment.
Experience with PC Law and cloud applications an asset
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Self motivated, organized and independent.
