Local gravel truck company operating for over 40 years is looking to add drivers to our team! Candidate must have experience driving a dump truck/pony must have knowledge of gravel pits located within the Lower Mainland.
Overview
The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting materials to and from construction sites, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the dump truck. The position will require hauling of various materials to job sites within the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.
Duties
- Operate dump trucks to transport materials such as gravel, sand, dirt, and other construction materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload materials in a safe manner, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors and other team members regarding delivery schedules and site conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including quantities and types of materials transported.
- Perform basic maintenance on the truck, including checking fluid levels and tire pressure, as well as reporting any mechanical issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving on public roads.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 3 driver license with clean abstract.
- Minimum 3 years of driving experience.
- Proven experience in operating dump trucks.
- Ability to handle equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
- Commitment to safety practices and procedures on the job site.
