Position Summary:
You are an experienced Project Manager within the industrial, commercial and civil construction industry. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations by developing and monitoring project performance against project plans/schedules to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget. Ability to complete projects from estimating to turnover.
Safety:
- Overall responsibility for site safety.
- Understand and follow WorkSafeBC legislation, our own Health and Safety Manual, and the Clients Contractor Safety Procedures.
- Ensure all personnel on-site have been put through an orientation and training.
- Ensure workers understand and follow our Safe Work Practices and Procedures
- Lead toolbox and weekly safety meetings
- Report all near misses, spills, and incidents
Responsibilities:
- Provide clear direction to team members and distribute workload to capitalize on individual and group strengths while ensuring balanced exposure to work experience and development opportunities.
- Manage and coordinate the utilization of the human resources, assets, materials, and subcontractors.
- Assist the Contract Manager in administrating contracts with Clients and subcontractors.
- Liaison with appointed project assurance representatives to assure the overall direction and integrity of the project.
- Adopting and applying appropriate technical and quality strategies and standards.
- Conducting a project evaluation review to assess how well the project was managed
- Time and cost estimation.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of related experience on project sites
- Completion of post-secondary education in construction, engineering or related discipline
- Ability to plan and manage a project schedule
- Contract negotiation/management skills
- Knowledge of construction costs and budgets
- Knowledge of methods of bidding, purchasing, negotiating, contracting, cash flow, expediting, receiving and transporting
- A track record of building successful teams, effectively motivating people and maintaining effective relationships with clients, owners and consultants
- Capacity to respond to stakeholder requests in typical situations, investigating all the facts
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and in appropriate style
- Willingness to actively share experience and ideas with team
- Capable of identifying straightforward problems, generating possible solutions and assessing those solutions against standard procedures or guidelines
