Job Summary:
As the MRI Technologist at Elysian Imaging and Diagnostics, you will play a pivotal role in supporting accurate diagnoses and exceptional patient care. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives on creating a comfortable experience for patients while performing high-quality MRI scans. Your ability to combine technical expertise with a patient-centred approach and leadership abilities will contribute to the high standards of care that Elysian is known for.
Technologist Key Responsibilities:
- Operate MRI scanners to produce high-resolution images that support accurate clinical diagnoses.
- Provide clear, compassionate explanations of MRI procedures to address patient concerns and ensure understanding.
- Foster a calm and supportive environment to maximize patient comfort throughout the imaging experience.
- Work collaboratively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret results, resolve quality control issues, and update protocols as needed.
- Troubleshoot and maintain MRI systems and associated equipment to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency.
- Ensure strict adherence to patient safety standards, including screening for contraindications and using sterile injection techniques.
- Guide and support new technologists through training and mentorship to promote a skilled and cohesive team.
- Remain composed and professional during high-pressure situations, prioritizing patient care and effective communication.
- Liaise with vendors, clients, and suppliers to maintain strong external partnerships.
- Manage inventory and ensure availability of supplies for the MRI department.
- Creation/modification of protocols in Siemens scanner as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Current CAMRT Certification and completion of an advanced accredited specialty program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
- Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer Certification.
- Minimum 5 years of recent MRI experience.
- Certification in Intravenous Therapy and CPR - Basic Life Support level (BCLS).
- Leading and Implementing the Diagnostic Accreditation Process
Asset:
- Leadership/management experience.
- Familiarity with Siemens MRI scanners.
