As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of one of the following programs: Master's degree in Psychology. Master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy and who have Psychosocial Intervention Authorization. Master's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Master's degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:
5 years in the mental health field is essential, preferably in a community setting. Training in crisis intervention, assessment and case management skills are essential, preferably in a community setting would be an asset. Advanced knowledge of mental illness, and evidence based/ evidence-informed treatment (including risk assessment and crisis management). Ability to identify and provide support for concurrent disorders and medical co-morbidity is required. Possess the ability to ambulate, climb stairs and move quickly without limitations in a variety of environments. A knowledge of community integration skills, computer proficiencies, and well developed written and verbal skills is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in Addiction and Mental health preferably in a community based setting. Non Violent Crisis Intervention and Suicide Interventions required training.
