Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a walk-in clinic and a family practice setting. This role involves collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive medical services, ensuring the well-being of patients across all age groups, including pediatrics.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and physical exams
- Diagnose and manage common illnesses and chronic conditions
- Prescribe medications and initiate treatment plans under physician supervision
- Perform procedures within scope (e.g., wound care, suture removal, injections)
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff
- Document all patient interactions in OSCAR EMR
- Assist in patient education and preventive care counseling
Requirements
- Graduate of a Canadian or US accredited Physician Assistant program
- Licensed and in good standing with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA), or candidates must be eligible to challenge the National Certification Exam
- Previous experience in a walk-in/family medicine setting is preferred
- Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
- Comfortable working in a busy, high-volume environment
- OSCAR EMR experience preferred
- Experience in pediatrics is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate data collection and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while providing high-quality patient care.
