THE OPPORTUNITY:
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (up to 40 hours/per week)
Shift Details: Sunday to Thursday, 4:00 pm – 12:30 am
Compensation Range: $21.35-$24.65/hour *Commensurate with experience
The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training. It is not typical for the starting salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors.
WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM:
- Grade 12 Diploma (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in building maintenance or a related role is preferred
- Must hold a valid, clean Class G driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle for occasional travel to other company locations as needed
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry systems
- Experience using handheld power tools, with a working knowledge of safety practices related to tools, machinery, and maintenance equipment
- Experience operating a forklift and/or scissor lift is preferred
- Must be comfortable working at heights; current certification is considered an asset
- Comfortable performing physical work, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials or equipment
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform general building maintenance and minor repairs of the building, including walls, floors, ceilings, and fixtures.
- Conduct daily cleaning of the floors at the Bardon sales counter, Bathworks showroom, upstairs offices, and the warehouse shipping dock, lunchroom, employee entrance and hallway.
- Conduct weekly scheduled floor cleaning within other areas of the warehouse.
- Conduct daily garbage removal from all areas.
- Conduct daily cleaning of all washrooms in all areas.
- Conduct daily cleaning of the lunchroom, including sanitizing counters and tables, and monthly cleaning of the refrigerator.
- Conduct minor repairs on plumbing systems (e.g., leaks, clogged drains, or faulty fixtures).
- Change light bulbs as necessary in the warehouse/office areas.
- Patch drywall, repaint surfaces, and perform basic carpentry repairs (e.g., fixing doors, windows, shelves, etc.).
- Conduct monthly safety checks to ensure fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, AEDs and Emergency Lights are in good repair.
- Identify potential hazards or issues to management.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including basic landscaping, cleaning walkways, and clearing debris, snow, or ice when necessary.
- Maintain cleaning/maintenance supplies and equipment; notify the Operations Manager of any shortages or required orders.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests or emergencies.
- Execute all other duties required by the position and by the immediate supervisor.
