The Hilton Garden Inn Fredericton Downtown is seeking a highly motivated Bartender with strong initiative and a drive for personal achievement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, solid food and beverage knowledge, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and engage with them to determine beverage preferences
- Make recommendations and take accurate drink orders
- Plan drink menus and inform guests about new beverages and specials
- Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages
- Verify identification to ensure guests meet legal drinking age requirements
- Monitor inventory and order supplies to keep the bar and service areas well-stocked
- Adhere to all food safety and quality standards
- Process cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized bar and dining area, including clearing tables and washing glassware, utensils, and equipment
- Develop and introduce new cocktail recipes
Skills, Abilities & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a food and beverage environment
- Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and craft beer
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Solid understanding of hospitality industry principles, practices, and techniques
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent conflict resolution, negotiation, and customer service skills
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $15.90 per hour
