What You’ll Do
- Perform local deliveries and pickups within Edmonton and surrounding areas, both LTL (less-than-truckload) and full loads.
- Operate and drive a Class I commercial truck safely and efficiently.
- Handle cargo with care; use an electric pallet jack when required.
- Conduct daily inspections of trucks and trailers (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), including basic maintenance/vehicle checks.
- Maintain accurate records: hours of service, cargo, mileage, trips. Use an electronic tablet for logging and dispatch communications.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and hours-of-service requirements.
- Work with dispatch and warehouse staff to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
What We’re Looking For
- Valid Class I commercial driver’s licence (or equivalent provincial licence).
- Clean driver’s abstract, good driving record, no recent serious infractions.
- Minimum 2 years of commercial city driving experience (local driving in urban/regional environment).
- Comfort using an electronic tablet for logs, dispatch, and communications.
- Experience with or ability to operate an electric pallet jack and handle physical demands of loading/unloading.
- Ability to perform daily NSC-style inspections of truck and trailer (pre-trip, post-trip).
- Mandatory understanding of load securement regulations.
- Experience tarping flatbed loads; must be confident working at height and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Previous experience with B-train sets (hooking/unhooking, maneuvering, and inspections) strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of hours-of-service regulations and commitment to safety compliance.
- Good communication skills, punctuality and reliability.
