We currently have an opportunity for a temporary full time Senior Financial Analyst . This position is a temporary and anticipated to extend to December 2025.
Hours of Work : 7.5 Hour Shifts - Monday to Friday, Overtime may be required.
How Senior Financial Analyst support our teams at Grand River Hospital:
- Work directly with the accounting financial analysts to ensure a standardized approach to providing Hospital accounting and reporting support
- Provide assigned regular financial support to the Hospital’s accounting and reporting function as part of the month-end financial and statistical close, the drafting of internal financial statements, the subsequent account reconciliations, as well as compliance work
- Assist the Manager Financial Accounting and Reporting to meet the Hospital’s financial priorities
- Coordinates with Information Services Department to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they relate to the financial systems
- Develop and foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders by providing financial guidance and oversight to business support areas such as, but not limited to, Payroll, Patient Accounts and Accounts Payable
- Provides oversight to the Employee Expense payment process to maintain controls and provide assistance to the various stakeholders
- Special projects focusing on lean improvements for transaction processing across finance functional areas
- Other related duties as required
- Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
At Grand River Hospital, the Senior Financial Analyst:
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related discipline is required
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation is required
- Hospital senior financial analyst experience preferred (2 years minimum)
- A high level of computer proficiency in software applications including advanced knowledge of MS Excel, ERP systems, and business intelligence system
- Ability to develop solutions to complex problems, balance priorities and meet deadlines
- Extensive experience in report writing software
- Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communications (written, verbal, and presentation)
- Experience with the OHRS(MIS) reporting standards for the Ontario Ministry of Health preferred
- Good attendance record
