Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Marine Mechanic to join our team in maintaining and repairing a variety of marine vessels. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with marine engines and systems. The Marine Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting routine maintenance to keep vessels operating efficiently and reliably.
Duties
- Diagnose mechanical problems on marine vessels using specialized tools and equipment
- Perform repairs on engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, and other vessel components
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections
- Use hand tools and power tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble marine equipment
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and maintenance activities
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and environmental regulations
- Assist in troubleshooting complex mechanical issues and recommend solutions
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively
Experience
- Proven experience as a Marine Mechanic or similar role in marine or automotive repair environments
- Strong mechanical knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical wiring, and hydraulic systems
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
- Experience working with power tools including drills, grinders, and impact drivers
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints related to marine systems
- Prior experience working in a boatyard or marine service facility is preferred but not required
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and safety awareness
Pay: From $18.80 per hour
