About Commercial Banking
HSBC Commercial Banking (CMB) has an extensive network that covers three-quarters of global trade flows. Within the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) team, the Associate Relationship Support Manager (Credit Officer) has wide-scope exposure, working closely with the Relationship Manager (RM) and being the first point of contact for customers in attendance to all of their daily operational activities related to bank accounts, lending and cash management products. Along with the RM, they successfully close out deals which includes completion of documentation (legal, credit, security, funding, etc.). The Associate Relationship Support Manager will also focus on delivery on Global Liquidity and Cash Management (GLCM) trade and Global Banking & Markets (GBM) products.
Supporting RM’s as it relates to all client needs - engaging closely with the client to understand their business and providing prompt/efficient customer service while promoting banks products/services.
Primary contact for new, non-borrowing business accounts - proactively promoting, selling and delivering a full range of products and services, while screening for appropriate referral or RM opportunities.
Provide excellent customer service to clients and ensure the efficiency of the operations of the dedicated portfolios through a wide range of administrative activities
Respond to client requests by answering questions and providing an exceptional experience
Maintaining compliance standards in client dealings/ client accounts
Working closely with product partners, international colleagues, and other Global Businesses to deliver maximum value of HSBC products and services to each assigned customer.
Identify and mitigate risks or potential risks to HSBC, including but not limited to credit, fraud, operational, and reputational risk. Resolve and/or escalate any identified issues promptly.
Provide guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues.
Understanding of the market in relation to the client’s business.
Understanding of financials and the ability to structure complex deals.
Ensuring all regulatory requirements are adhered to at the highest Group standard.
Constant vigilance in identifying and mitigating financial, operational, fraud risks.
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years related, banking employment experience.
Bachelor’s Degree, preferable in Business
Familiar with general banking regulations, processes and procedures
Good commercial lending, risk assessment knowledge
Ability to understand a customer’s business and the fundamentals of running a business.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent time management, planning and organisation skills
Excellent range of communication skills, including written and verbal
Strong analytical skills
Proven ability to deliver creative and flexible customer solutions
Ability to build personal relationships with current and potential clients and internal stakeholders
Ability to use good judgement, be a self-motivator and exercise independent discretion.
