Key Accountabilities:
In collaboration with the VP, Business Banking, develops, monitors and adjusts annual sales plan based on assessment of the opportunities to accelerate growth/expansion.
Generates new commercial and agriculture business and referrals by seeking out opportunities through research, networking in the community and developing relationships.
Conducts interviews with members and pre-members; through effective analysis identifies lending needs and cross sells relevant credit union products (including insurance services).
Submits loan applications and related documents within approved lending guidelines, and works with Credit Services and/or Centralized Operations for review and approval.
Ensures profitability of loan through application of service charges, loan rates and overdue interest.
Partners with appropriate sales teams including retail, automotive finance, wealth management and others to provide/solicit referrals as appropriate.
Provides business financial counseling and information to members on loan services and deposit products offered through the credit union; understands and uses knowledge of member’s financial condition to effectively position the value of products and services.
Grows and retains existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to members to enhance existing relationships.
Achieves and/or exceeds individual/divisional targets for sales and referrals as mutually agreed upon in the annual performance cycle.
Follows up on delinquent accounts as directed by Collections using established collections policies, documents contacts and outcomes.
Builds collaborative working relationships with marketing staff and other managers to increase sales opportunities and maximise revenue for the credit union.
Reviews Risk Management policies and procedures on an annual basis.
This position will initially be based out of Olds, transferring to Red Deer once we have a physical location.

Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
6– 8 years experience in commercial banking.
Completed a relevant certificate, diploma, degree or designation program.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Prior experience in managing a sales territory is an asset with a proven sales track record.
