The Labour Relations Assistant has two primary objectives:
Meet the scheduling needs for all units with complex schedules (i.e. units that operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, requiring staff replacement in the event of absence) based on the appropriate collective agreement language, PRHC policies, legislation, scheduling protocols and unit needs established by the unit manager.
Provide a positive scheduling experience for the staff, the manager, the unit and the organization as a whole through timely and respectful communication, accurate and consistent service delivery, anticipation of scheduling needs, and initiation of suggestions for improvement in scheduling.

Post-secondary diploma in Human Resources, Business or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
One to two years of experience in a related work environment
Previous experience in Staffing/Scheduling with an understanding of Collective Agreements (ONA, CUPE, and OPSEU) and scheduling rules in a hospital environment is preferred
Experience with a computerized scheduling program (KRONOS) is preferred
Excellent computer skills
Excellent data entry and analysis skills.
Proven communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills.
Ability to deal with conflict.
Good time management and organizational skills.
Strong customer service skills, telephone etiquette, and displays PRHC core values.
Ability to prioritize duties and meet goals.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and use good judgement.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands at a time.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a good attendance record and meet the performance standards of the Health Centre
