Enchant School is a Kindergarten - Grade 9 school. Our 11 staff provide a service to approx. 100 students from the Hamlet of Enchant and surrounding area.
Regular Learning Commons/Educational Assistant Support- approx. 23.5 hours/week
Hours include- Monday & Thursday 8:30 a.m.- 3:40 p.m. and Tuesday & Wednesday 8:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
Enchant School is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic person who loves books and installing a love of reading in students! This position is part-time in the Learning Commons area, and part-time working in the classroom as an Educational Assistant supporting students with diverse learning needs. The successful candidate will demonstrate kindness, patience and a positive attitude towards learning. Previous experience working with children would be considered an asset. Additional qualities sought after would include the ability to work independently and as part of a team and strong organizational skills.

An Educational Assistant in Horizon School Division:

Encourages students to develop and maintain positive interaction.

Maintains confidentiality and a patient, supportive and enthusiastic commitment to students.

As required, provides personal care including toileting, diapering, feeding, dressing, grooming, etc. ensuring that student dignity is maintained. Attends to physical needs including lifting, positioning, and range of motion programs as identified by appropriate personnel.

Ensures the safety of students in the school and community, which includes maintaining close supervision of students, ensuring student equipment is sanitized and put away, retrieving students who attempt to leave their learning environment, calming and/or restraining students engaged in challenging behaviours; supervising and assisting students who utilize a variety of life skill tools (i.e., scissors, cooking utensils, etc.).

Maintains collegial relationships with the students' learning team.
