Ensuring that the cows are milked out properly and thoroughly.
Operate basic farm equipment and tools as required
Follow safety protocols and farm procedures.
Work both independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks.
Availability to work shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays.
Carry out daily operations including milking, breeding, calving, calf care, and assisting/directing students as scheduled by
the Dairy Unit Supervisor
Operate and maintain milking equipment, ensuring proper startup, sanitation, and complete milking of cows
Tag, process, and provide care for calves; administer treatments or medications as required
Maintain accurate animal records including breeding dates, pregnancy results, vaccinations, heat detection, and calving
information
Follow the Dairy Learning Centre’s cleaning schedule to ensure the facility is presentable for visitors and prospective
students
Assist with maintenance of waterers, manure handling systems, feed bunks, feeders, parlors, and other equipment to
ensure animal welfare and operational efficiency
Support farm technicians with bedding, livestock movement, treatments, and other farm-related tasks as needed
