We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Insurance Broker who shares our passion for excellence to curate, manage, and grow a portfolio of commercial accounts in Alberta.
The Role
As a Commercial Insurance Broker within Ravenhill, you will serve as a trusted consultant to a select portfolio of commercial clients. Your role goes beyond standard policy placement; you will design risk-transfer strategies, navigate complex market placements, and deliver exceptional service experience.
This position is designed for an articulate, driven, and community minded professional who takes pride in execution, possesses technical expertise, and understands the nuances of advising mid-market enterprises and high-net-worth business owners. The ideal person for this position would be driven to continue to grow and service our commercial portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Insurance Advisory: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to design tailored insurance policies that protect our clients’ sophisticated business assets.
- Portfolio Curation: As part of a team, you would manage commercial accounts with an emphasis on proactive communication, meticulous accuracy, and exceptional service standards.
- Strategic Market Relations: Leverage established relationships with premier domestic and specialty underwriters to negotiate highly competitive, customized coverage terms. Seek out new markets that align with Ravenhill’s expertise.
- Client Advocacy: Act as a dedicated advocate for clients during complex claims processes, ensuring their interests are protected and resolved with minimal disruption to their operations.
- Brand Ambassadorship: Represent Ravenhill’s reputation for excellence within the Edmonton business community through professional networking and relationship-building.
Qualifications & Experience
- Licensing: Active Alberta General Insurance License (Level 2 required).
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of insurance experience.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of commercial property, casualty, professional liability, and specialty lines. Professional designations (CAIB, CIP, CRM, or FCIP) are highly valued.
- High-Touch Service Philosophy: Proven experience managing accounts with a focus on discretion, responsiveness, and tailored solutions.
- Communication Style: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex risk solutions clearly to executives and business owners.
- Systems Proficiency: Experience utilizing advanced Broker Management Systems and digital placement tools.
