Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable Long Haul Truck Drivers to transport freight safely and on time over long distances. The job requires operating heavy-duty trucks, handling freight, following safety rules, and maintaining a professional attitude. Experience in commercial truck driving is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
- Load and unload goods
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Perform emergency roadside repairs
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
Pay: $37.60 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
