What is the opportunity?
As a Portfolio Management Associate, you plays a key role in the monitoring and evaluation of Corporate Client Group’s (CCG) credit portfolio, including Mid Market Leverage & Infrastructure Finance (MMLIF) and Capital Partners portfolios.
CCG targets loan origination in the Canadian mid-market, including large private or small public Canadian companies and Canadian subsidiaries of foreign multinationals. CCG is responsible for meeting annually established targets for loan derived revenues and returns and providing advice to our partners on optimizing the use of lending in connection with broader RBC relationship goals.
What will you do?
Support CCG’s watch list and triage process by liaising with CCG-Finance and MMLIF personnel across the country and work closely with key partners (including Credit Transaction Management, Asset Based Lending and Group Risk Management) to deliver a comprehensive document for watch list and triage meetings.
Assist in the identification of deteriorating credit trends as well as Environmental, Social, and Governance matters and escalate the information to senior management.
Support Relationship Managers to estimate transaction and relationship profitability. Subsequently help determine variances between actual and projected portfolio profitability.
Co-ordinate special industry reviews with Credit Transaction Management and Group Risk Management and maintain peer comparisons for selected industries within CCG.
Enhance portfolio analytic capabilities while reducing the amount of processing time by automating reports across a number of key parameters, including industry, geography, credit exceptions and credit quality.
Assist with the compilation of various reports and presentations for senior CCG management. Notably, monitor CCG’s compliance with various portfolio limits and quality metrics such as Single Name Limits and upcoming loan maturities.
Assist in setting and monitoring CCG’s growth plans including loan growth projections working closely with CCG’s National Operating Officer relative to key portfolio parameters, including credit quality and profitability while overseeing transfer process for clients transitioning from Commercial Banking/Capital Markets and monitor timely completion timelines with key partners.
