Warehouse Associate

Texcan is looking for a bright and driven Warehouse Associate to join us at our 45,000 sq. ft Winnipeg warehouse. This position will report to the Warehouse Manager and is expected to rotate between various roles ranging from cutting cable, operating a forklift, shipping & receiving and other warehouse duties. This person must be able to perform the requirements according to safety standards and our company’s standard operating procedures. This is a permanent full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:
Process cable orders, including coiling and reeling and cut cable per order requirements.
Follow the correct cutting procedures, complete required paperwork, and verify the order matches the requirements.
Monitoring and tracking inventory per company procedures.
Completing the Pre-shift inspection for forklift, including battery maintenance.
Maintaining safety compliance when operating the forklift.
Order picking.
Putting stock away in appropriate locations.
Operating scanning gun.
Stocking empty reels.
Shipping & Receiving.
Assisting with general cleaning of work environment.
Participating in re-certification for forklift operation, as required.
Performing other related duties and safety checks as required.
Adhering to standards/processes in warehouse operations.
Reporting any unsafe work conditions that might occur.
Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2 + years of warehouse, production or general labour related experience.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Forklift Certification required.
Basic to intermediate computer skills and experience with MS Office would be preferred.
Ability to meet customer order deadlines.
Perform basic mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks.
Write and read routine reports or job orders.
Interpret a variety of instructions whether provided in written, oral, or schedule form.
Organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a repetitive basis.
Overtime required time to time, depending on operational requirements.
