The CIO reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is a key member of the executive team for Reitmans (Canada) Limited. In this capacity, the incumbent is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of the company’s business and digital transformation strategy, establishing the IT roadmap based on organizational priorities, and leading a team of over 150 technology professionals to deliver upon business solution requirements. As a proven leader in enterprise technology, cybersecurity, and integrated solutions, the incumbent will be instrumental in enabling company growth and business success.

Provide expert counsel and guidance to the senior management team on a variety of topics, with an emphasis on leveraging technology and data to drive revenue growth and improve business operations
Lead IT strategic planning to achieve business objectives by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives and coordinating and evaluating deployment and management of current and future IT systems across the organization
Develop a long-term technology and digital vision and associated strategic plans to ensure company success including a focus on transitioning legacy systems to more efficient solutions and the development of a fully omni-channel approach to sales and the consumer experience, supported by state of the art CRM and analytics to drive key decision making
Create business cases for appropriate project funding to enable innovative IT initiatives that have strategic value, implement according to schedule, and effectively managing both capital and expense budgets
Establish and enforce appropriate IT policies and practices including those pertaining to cyber security, key processes, systems, technology, and lifecycle management
Create effective partnerships, negotiate with external partners and vendors related to hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts, and pursue master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale
Lead and provide consultative direction to all functional areas within the organization by identifying, developing and implementing global IT solutions that support the business, functional, technical and regulatory compliance requirements
Establish service level metrics to continuously improve processes and outcomes while utilizing industry standards and benchmarks to measure service, quality, and satisfaction to exceed both internal and external customer expectations
Provide effective leadership to the Information Technology team ensuring the services align with the business priorities across the corporation while cultivating and promoting a positive, agile, and innovative work environment

Requirements :
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field is required. An advanced degree (ex: MBA, MIS) would be preferred
15+ years of successful progressive experience leading IT strategy, development, operations and technical teams, governance, and program management
Experience integrating information systems within a highly complex environment and modernizing legacy platforms, driving automation and process improvement, and creating new tools and technology while maximizing productivity through collaborative tools
Successful track record of playing a critical role in driving technology innovation along with leveraging economies of scale within an environment having shared challenges of different business units
Demonstrated capability in development, operation and selection of software platforms that support customer experience and corporate function needs, and the development and delivery of software to support digital and in-store sales
Experience in developing IT strategy and roadmaps, aligning with the broader business executive team on priorities and funding for critical initiatives
Proven ability to direct and guide executive management teams on technical issues with the ability to influence cross functional groups on extremely critical matters
Stays abreast of and possess a thorough understanding of current and leading technologies/ solutions that enable the strategic use of data, analytics, and automation
Proven track record of leading complex, large-scale technology implementations – ERP consolidation strategy and execution is preferred
Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to deploy resources, inspire change, and successfully govern multiple large projects
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences, including persuading/influencing your peers at the senior leadership level
Known as a great collaborator, serving as a true strategic partner and enabler to all facets of the organization
Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities

Experience with E-Commerce platforms & Customer Relationship Management Systems allowing for a more comprehensive customer experiences
Knowledge of Oracle Retail Suite, Manhattan Associates product line, CRM platforms, Retail Planning systems, Analytics and mobility solutions, as well as Data warehouse and integration tools are considered necessary
Bilingual (English and French) preferred
