Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for a full time (40 hours/week) Maintenance Supervisor in our Edmonton region.

You will be joining an established Agency that is guided by faith to care for and bring hope to people in need with humility, compassion and respect. With more than 50 years of service delivery, Catholic Social Services is one of the largest multi-function social services agencies in Canada, with more than 1700 staff, and 2000 volunteers delivering 130+ programs throughout Central and Northern Alberta.

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the direction and leadership of the Agency maintenance operations. This will include day to day management of trades and maintenance staff in support of the Corporate Property Asset Management Plan & Facilities Management Strategy. The Supervisor of Infrastructure and Asset Management will effectively and efficiently develop and implement plans for repairs, renovations and restorations in the context of applicable legislation and best practice.

As a creative and innovative leader, the Maintenance Supervisor will monitor operations for efficiency and safety ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements and safety procedures are followed to avoid accidents.

The Maintenance Supervisor must be a motivated leader with strong focus on maintenance and operations, effective attention to details and a high level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability.

As a key member reporting to the Director, Infrastructure and Asset Management the core responsibilities include:

Excellent knowledge of building operations, HVAC, fire, safety, and mechanical systems and the respective by-laws and/or regulations governing the installation, operation, and/or maintenance of all equipment and leasehold improvements;
Adhering to the maintenance budget;
Effective leadership, communication, relationship building skills with a strong focus on maintenance and operations;
Supervise a small team of maintenance technicians;
Computer proficiency in property management software;
Working knowledge of contracts and agreements;
Committed to the Agency’s mission as demonstrated in living out these values in the work;
Ability to prioritize workgroup goals, define, and delegate responsibilities;
Set and measure KPIs;
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, be a self-starter, and motivate subordinates;
Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with a highly developed sense of tact and diplomacy;
Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills;

Preferred Qualifications:
3 - 5 years of Facilities Supervisor/Management experience or equivalent;
2 - 3 years of experience related to maintenance of commercial and residential buildings is an asset;
3 - 5 years Supervisory experience required;
Degree or Diploma in Facility Management, Business, or related discipline;
Experience in handling confidential or personal information in accordance to the guidelines and practices of Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy;
