Position Overview
Landscape Construction Labourer is responsible for assisting with a wide variety of landscaping, property maintenance. This role involves operating equipment, performing manual labour, maintaining job sites, and ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.
Successful candidates are dependable, self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
Responsibilities
Landscape Maintenance & Property Services
- Perform lawn mowing, lawn edging, and string trimming
- Complete spring and fall cleanups
- Conduct core aeration and power raking/dethatching services
- Apply fertilizers and weed control treatments according to company standards
- Trim hedges and shrubs
- Install mulch and decorative rock
- Assist with landscaping projects, including planting, grading, and yard improvements
- Perform general yard cleanup and debris removal
General Duties
- Lift, carry, and move heavy materials, tools, and equipment
- Perform setup and cleanup tasks at job sites
- Load and unload vehicles, trailers, and equipment
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and heavy machinery
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and vehicles
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently and professionally
Equipment & Machinery
Experience operating the following equipment is considered an asset:
- Zero-turn and ride-on mowers
- Walk behind mowers
- String trimmers and edgers
- Hedge trimmers and backpack blowers
- Aerators and power rake
- Skid steers and mini excavators
- Trailers and light-duty trucks
Requirements
- Previous landscaping, grounds maintenance
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70lbs regularly
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record preferred
- Comfortable operating hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment
- Punctual, dependable, and safety-conscious
