Job Description: Reporting to the Staff Safety Manager Rural, the Safety Consultant is accountable for the application of staff safety practices and standards to protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The Consultant is responsible to ensure consistent application of all staff safety legislation, regulations and practices by using quality improvement methodologies. The position is expected to maintain safety as outlined in the SHA Staff Safety Strategy plan and support the deployment and replication of these plans. The consultant will participate in and lead efforts to link in with key partners to support safety and continuous improvement at all levels of the organization. To be successful, the Consultant must effectively work with staff and leaders to integrate best practices and standards.
Education
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in a health related field
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Information
- Travel within Saskatchewan
- Incumbent will be required to keep current in developments in legislation
- Or field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- This positions is responsible for providing support to Network SW 3 and 6
- Experience within a health care facility
- Practical expertise in this specialty area is preferred
- Experience with Project Management and advanced Microsoft Excel are an asset
- Consideration will be given to practical experience gained in other industries
- Attain organizational goals via SHA-Management System/Quality Improvement tools
- Create methods to engage stakeholders reducing resistance/facilitate change
- Provide leadership to local/provincial teams to access readiness for replication
- Position will be based in Rosetown or Kindersley pending successful applicant
