MCG Careers, Inc. is seeking a Customer Service/Inside Sales Representative on behalf of our employer partner (under the Winning Edge-Workplace Training Program), a Calgary-based promotional products and branding company that helps businesses increase visibility through customized promotional merchandise, apparel, print products, and marketing solutions. Position Overview
They are seeking a friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused Customer Service / Inside Sales Representative to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, communicating with people, and helping clients find creative promotional solutions for their businesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to inquiries, following up on quotes and sales opportunities, assisting clients in the showroom, and supporting the sales process from initial contact through order completion.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Client Support:
- Greet and assist walk-in customers in the showroom.
- Build positive relationships with new and existing clients.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries by phone, email, and in person.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process.
- Assist customers in selecting promotional products that meet their branding and marketing goals.
Inside Sales & Lead Follow-Up:
- Follow up on quotes, inquiries, and sales opportunities.
- Contact web-generated leads to gather project details and qualify opportunities.
- Proactively communicate with prospective and existing customers regarding product options, timelines, and pricing.
- Support the sales team in converting inquiries into orders.
- Maintain accurate customer information and activity records.
Quote Preparation & Product Research:
- Research promotional products and supplier options.
- Generate creative product ideas and recommendations for clients.
- Prepare customer quotes and proposals.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal team members to ensure accurate pricing and product availability.
Administrative & Sales Support:
- Process orders and maintain customer records.
- Track outstanding quotes and follow-up activities.
- Assist with showroom organization and product displays.
- Support general office and administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Friendly, outgoing personality with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Comfortable making phone calls and following up with customers.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
- Organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and email.
Preferred:
- Experience in customer service, inside sales, retail sales, account management, or business development.
- Experience in the promotional products industry, print industry, marketing, branding, or related fields.
- Experience preparing quotes or working with CRM systems.
- Knowledge of promotional merchandise, apparel, printing, or graphic design is considered an asset.

Winning Edge – Workplace Training Program Requirements
To qualify for this opportunity through the Winning Edge Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen.
- Must be unemployed at the time of intake.
- Ready, willing, and able to work full-time (up to 40 hours/week).
- Not a current student or enrolled in any program or school.
